Early Life

Todd Joseph Miller was born in Denver, Colorado on June 5, 1981. He is the son of Kent Miller, an attorney from Chanute and a clinical psychologist Leslie Miller. Miller’s parents had European ancestry, his mother, an Ashkenazi Jew, making him German-Jewish and Russian-Jewish while his father who is a Christian is of English, German and Swedish ancestry. Miller’s height is 1.88 metres, and he weighs around 74 kg. Miller attended Graland Country Day School before graduating from Denver’s East High School. While in school, he took part in the school drama production and was often taken as the class clown. 

Upon completing high school, Miller attended George Washington University and obtained a degree in Psychology, following in his mother’s footsteps. Miller started his career as a stand-up comedian by moving to Chicago after graduation, performing with many local troupes. He toured with one of the troupes, The Second City, for a couple of years and became popular with the audience. Within this period, Miller got recognized as Variety’s 10 Comics To Watch. Next, Miller towed the steps of other stand-up comedians by releasing a comedy album titled Mash Up AudioFile in 2012, having experienced partial success with previous release of No Real Reason in 2011. His role earned him the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2015. In 2016, he was arrested and detained for assaulting an Uber driver over an argument that ensured between over Donald Trump, whom Miller never supported. Miller was granted bail at $20,000 and subsequently a settlement was reached between him and the driver in 2018.

With the MeToo movement, Miller was fingered and called out by an anonymous woman who claimed to be his ex-girlfriend at George Washington University back in 2001. The woman code-named as ‘Sarah’ alleged that Miller became violent during their sexual encounter. She alleged Miller punched, shook and choked her during sex with her consent.
