Introduction

Marcus Rashford is an English professional footballer who currently plays for Premier League giants, Manchester United as well as represents his national team of England. He has been at United ever since the start of his dream of becoming a footballer moving up the ranks to make his debut in the 2015/16 season against Arsenal where he scored a goal as well.

Early Life

Rashford was born on 31 October 1997, in Wythenhawe, Manchester. His acquaintance with football started when he was 5 years old being  apart of Fletcher Moss Rangers. However, just after two years, he would move to the academy of Manchester United. This would become his new home as he developed into a big footballer like he is today, through the facilities that were offered to him back then.

Rashford has come up the ranks through his hard work and the results that he was able to produce in his youth team. This potential is what had initially caught the eye of Louis van Gaal, who was the manager of United during the 2015/16 season where he would make his breakthrough. Van Gaal is known for being generous and open when it comes to giving youths a chance which spring back from his days at Barcelona giving chances to players like Xavi.

On 25 February 2016, Rashford got to make his first-team debut at the Europa League match against Arsenal. This would be a dream start for him as he ended up scoring two goals and ending up in the front page of newspapers.

Three days later he made his Premier league debut against the same team scoring two goals again. He thus became the third youngest scorer for United in Premier League history. He would make several other records because of his young age. This was a dream season for Rashford where he managed to hit 8 goals and also win the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year.

Career

There were tensions among fans about whether the new manager, Jose Mourinho would give Rashford a chance in the first team citing his history of only playing senior players at Chelsea. However, Rashford impressed Mourinho along with other youths like Martial and Lingard. He started to become an important asset for the team especially because of the speed that he possessed.

The signing of superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic actually helped him grow further as he learned a lot from the legend. He would go on to win the EFL Cup and the Europa League Final that year as well as the Community Shield at the start of the season. This was a very successful season for United and for the growth of Rashford into the first-team.

In 2017, he was named third in the Golden Boy award closely behind Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele. He has been able to cement a position this year and has also got the fans by his side being a home-grown player.

He has already been a part of the English National team as well. He actually got a call to be part of the Euro 2016 squad just 4 months after his debut. After scoring in a match against Australia, he became the youngest Englishman to score on his international debut, and the third youngest overall. He has now been named in the 23-man England national team squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Marcus Rashford Net Worth

After his breakthrough in 2016, he signed a deal with United that would put him at United until 2020. This deal is reportedly worth £20,000 a week. For such a young man to be earning such a high amount might seem unreal, however in comparison with some other stars like Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez, it is actually pretty low.

If Rashford continues such consistent performances, it is only a matter of time before he gets a large raise. As of 2018, he has an estimated net worth of £1 million. However, Spears Magazine has said that he is already worth £65 million if he were to be sold to another club. He also has a deal with Nike over endorsements and has used his 4 million plus followers on Instagram to influence the use of the brand. According to sources, he might also get into the property business in the future.

Personal Life

There were a lot of rumors that were saying that Rashford was dating 27 year old model Lauryne Goodman, but Goodman has turned down such rumors recently by saying that she is in a long-term relationship.

Rashford has used the money now he earns to good use as his mother and brothers now live in a £800,000 luxury house close to where he grew in up Wythenshawe which he has apparently rented for £5,000 a month.
