After that, Zelnick worked as a President and CEO of Crystal Dynamics and then joined BMG Entertainment. At one point BMG Entertainment was one of the world’s largest music and entertainment companies with more than 200 record labels and operation in 54 countries.

Zelnick is now the CEO and managing partner of Zelnick Media Capital. He founded the company in 2001 with a starting capital of $300,000. He is responsible for originating, structuring and monitoring investments,

Currently, he also serves as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Take Two Interactive Software. Take-Two Interactive is a video game company who is responsible for producing some of the big video games like BioShock, Grand Theft Auto, NBA2K, Red Deed and many more.

Prior to that, Zelnick was on the boards of Cast & Crew Entertainment Services, L.L.C., Alloy L.L.C. and Naylor L.L.C. He also served as Chairman and CEO of Columbia Music Entertainment, Chairman of ITN Networks, Chairman of Direct Holdings Worldwide and OTX.
