Dhivya Suryadevara is an Indian based American who is recently announced as the Chief Financial officer of the Auto Company, General Motors.
According to General Motors, one of the biggest auto company in the world said that she will succeed Chuck Stephens on September 1 as the chief financial officer. She has been currently working as the vice president of the corporate finance. This will make her the first female CFO of the big multinational company.
Dhivya was born on April 14, 1980 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Unfortunately her parents name is unavailable to us but what we know is that her father died when she was very young. Her mother had to kept care of three daughters by herself.
Regarding her educational background, she earned bachelor’s and master’s degree in commerce from University of Madras in Chennai. In-order to continue her education to higher level, she moved to United States where she earned MBA degree from Harvard University.
After completing her education, she landed her first job at the investment bank UBS and joined General Motors a year later, at an age of 25. Her contribution to industry was massive and she was named Automotive New Rising star in 2016 and a Crain’s Detroit Business 40 Under 40 winner in 2017.
During her time as vice president, she helped achieve ratings upgrades from all three credit rating agencies, completed $2 billion in notes issuance to fund discretionary pension contributions and upsized and renewed GM’s $14.5 billion resolving credit facility, Economics Times reported.
Dhivya who is currently 39 years old currently resides in New York, USA. She is a married woman and has a daughter. Her husband and daughter resides in Detroit and she often commute between Detroit and New York in a holidays.
