Early Life

Erika was born on July 10, 1971 in Atlanta, Georgia to Renee Chahoy. Before she was one year old their parents broke up. Then she was adopted by her mother’s new partner who married and divorced twice. Her mother’s new partner adopted her legally but cut off the contact when her parents got divorced the second time.

Erika first met her biological father when she was 25 years old and had seen him only twice when they met for the first time. Erika is very close to her grandmother and grandfather named as Hollis and Ann peak. Her grandfather “the only father whom she had ever known “died in July 2010 at the age of 81. Erika felt alone and disturbed when she lost her grandmother in November 2014 who died due to Alzheimer’s disease. She used to talk for an hour with her grandmother and when she realized she won’t get those calls now that was the hardest part for her to accept. After all her grandmother she has got strength and love from those calls.

Erika started her acting career in the early 1990’s through appearing in small roles in several film and television productions. Police drama series High Incident, Lowball Alchemy were some of the films where she had appeared. In Law & Order, in the episode “Prescription for Death” she was the first person to die on the show. After that, she was again appeared on the show in the episode “Violence of Summer.”

Erika was very passionate about music so she first released her dance music single “Roller Coaster” on January 1, 2007, which topped the billboard hot dance club play chart. Two years later she debuted full-length album “Pretty Mess” on August 11, 2009. Stars, Give you Everything and pretty Mess were some of the singles which were included in her album. After that, she released tour dates to support album Pretty Mess and appeared at various festivals and clubs across the United States. She produced her own record label Pretty Mess Records in November 2010.

After releasing her own record label she released her No. 1 single “Party People” in 2011. Erika recorded “All Things Aside” for comedy film The Watch in 2012. Featuring American Rapper Florida she released her single “Get it Tonight“ in 2013 which got over three million views on YouTube. ”Painkiller” one of her dance single was released on 2014 and featuring Maino “Crazy” her another single was released on February 15, 2015. Erika’s next new single “How Many Fucks” was released on April 19, 2016.

During 2015 she joined as the cast members of the popular reality show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for its 6th season. On January 4, 2017, Erika first time performed her hit single “XXpensive” which was officially released on February 15, 2017. She participated in season 24 of dancing with the stars on March 1, 2017.

Erika was appeared in a Christina Aguilera themed episode on Lip Sync Battle competing against Taye Diggs in January 2018. She has appeared as a guest co-host on  Fox’s Dish Nation on March 5, 2018. Erika released all memoir with Brian Moylan, Pretty Mess, with color photos and personal stories which were 7th on the New York Times Best Seller List in early 2018. On April 10, 2018, she released her single, “Cars”.
