McDonald was born on April 1963 in Wakefield, Yorkshire. Her father was a roadie and hence while growing up, Jane had the opportunity to tour to many clubs. Because of popular demand, as her fame was at the peak of the time, her wedding was even televised by the BBC in 1998. The Cruise opened up her career to a lot of new opportunities.
