Johnny David Damon is a retired American professional baseball player who played in the Major League Baseball (MLB) for 18 years. Damon has had a decorated career where he has played for many big teams including Kansas City Royals and the New York Yankees.

Damon was born on November 5, 1973, in Fort Riley, Kansas. His mother is originally from Thailand named Yome. His father, Jimmy actually met Yome whilst he was serving as a staff sergeant in Thailand. His earliest years were spent spanning from different service stations for his father.

He was a very shy and quiet kid. This is largely because of the problem of stuttering that he had from a very young age. Even though, he had therapy to improve it, he would rather stay quiet most of the time. Whilst attending Dr. Phillips High School, he started to get active in baseball and would later become a major high school prospect being named By Baseball America to the High School All-America team.

The very next year, he became only the second player in MLB history since 1900 to record three base hits in an inning, when he did so against the Florida Marlins.

2010 was another big year of records for Damon. After a $8 million agreement with the Detroit Tigers, Damon would record his 1,000th career RBI against the Kansas City Royals, thereby cementing his legacy in the MLB.

In the latter part of his career, Damon moved frequently from team to team. Even after his final season with the Cleveland Indians in 2012, he wanted to continue to play however he did not get any sufficient offers in the MLB. He only spent one season with the Oakland Athletics, Detroit Tigers, and Tampa Bay rays.

Damon was in love with Angela Vannice from their time in high school. Eventually, they decided to marry when Damon was only 19 years of age. According to him, this helped to mature him a lot early as they had twins named Jackson and Madelyn in 1999. Sadly, the relationship didn’t last long after that as they divorced in 2002.

Later, Damon married Michelle Mangan in 2007 and gave birth to their first daughter that same year. Today, the couple have six children and Damon has settled in his life as a family guy.
