Early Life

Michael Avenatti  was born on February 16, 1971 in Sacramento, California. He grew up in Colorado though his family moved often. He would go on to attend Parkway Central High School in Missouri. After completing his high school studies, Avenatti went on to get a degree from the University of Pennsylvania where he majored in political science.

He continued his studies even further by earning his Juris Doctor (JD) from George Washington University Law School. Avenatti was a very bright student here as well showing his competence by winning several accolades for his performances with the highlight of his stay there being the topper of his entire class as well as receiving George Washington University’s prestigious Alumni Recognition Award in 2010.

Career

His career had already begun when he was still in college. He had started to work at The Research Group which exposed him to political opposition research working on well over 150 campaigns. After this stint, he went on to work at O’Melveny & Myers in Los Angeles, California gaining mentorship from big names there.

By this time, Avenatti had grown as an attorney and even assisted in a massive case that involved singer, Christina Aguilera. He went on to work further for celebrities in their cases and started to develop a reputation for such services in the process.

He then left this firm to work for Greene Broillet & Wheeler which is known for handling some high-end cases with cases coming up in the multi-million numbers. He was thus acquainted with such large deals that also included lawsuits being handled including Paris Hilton and “The Apprentice” producer Mark Burnett.

After gaining all the experience that he required, Avenatti decided that it was now time to open up his own law firm naming it as Eagan Avenatti, LLP. By this time, he had already established a name for himself in the industry and his firm decided to narrow its focus towards solving high-end lawsuits.

Grey’s Anatomy’s Patrick Dempsey, who is also referred to as McDreamy in the show was a business partner of Avenatti. Together they had a deal over a coffee chain called Tully’s Coffee Shop. But, Dempsey would later sue Avenatti when he wanted to get out of the contract and for borrowing over $2 million for the business without prior notice.
