Nadiya Hussain is an English television personality, author and TV chef. She got International recognition after winning the 6th season of BBC’s “The Great British Bake Off” in 2015. As of 2018, Nadiya Hussain net worth is estimated to be $3 million.
Born on December 25, 1984 in Luton, England, Nadiya comes from a Bangladeshi family. Her father was also a chef and owned a restaurant in India. Nadiya went to Challney High School and then Luton Sixth Form College. She also received a degree in Childhood and Youth Studies from Open University.
Hussain got interest in cooking when she was at school. She learned to cook more recipes from the books and watching videos on YouTube. In 2015, she participated and won the 6th season of “The Great British Bakeoff”. The final of the show was watched by more than 15 million while she also got the backing of then Prime Minister David Cameron.
After winning the show, she became judge on “Junior Bake Off”. She was also a presenter of “The Chronicles of Nadiya” where she travels to Bangladesh to track her culinary roots. Her first episode of “The Chronicles of Nadiya” was watched by more than 4.5 million viewers and she was nominated for the 2017 National Television awards under Factual Entertainment category and also the Breakthrough star of 2017 in the Royal Television Society Awards.
In-addition to that, she has also presented shows like “Nadiya’s British Food Adventure”, “The Big Family Cooking Showdown” and “Nadiya’s Family Favorites”. She is also a guest presenter on the Loose Women. In one episode she told that she was given the task of baking Queen Elizabeth II”s 90th birthday cake.
She is also a contributing columnist. She is Editor to UK’s food brand “BBC’s Good Food”. She also writes for The Times Magazine. Some of her recipes have also appeared on BBC’s Good Food, Fabulous Magazine, The Guardian and The Telegraph.
As an author, she has written several books including Nadiya’s Family Favorites, Nadiya’s Kitchen, Nadiya’s Bake Mea Story: Fifteen Stories and Recipes for Children, The Secret Lives of the Amir Sisters and many more.
She is married to Abdal Hussain and together they have two sons and a daughter.
